Frisco Lakes is an active adult (55 and over) community in west Frisco, close to Lewisville Lake. Like most planned communities, it has an HOA and neighborhood standards for how yards look from the street.

Check what your HOA already covers

Some planned communities handle part of the yard care through the HOA, and some leave it all to the homeowner. Before you set up a mowing plan, check what your HOA covers for your home, so you are not paying twice for the same lawn. If the mowing is yours to arrange, a weekly or every other week plan takes it off your list. Travel without worrying about the lawn

If you spend time away, whether visiting family or traveling for a few weeks, your regular plan keeps going while you are gone. You never need to be home. Picking a plan

Many homes in active adult communities have smaller, easy to manage yards. For a compact lawn in slower months, every other week can be enough. In peak summer growth, weekly is usually the better fit. Both plans get the same full visit: mow, string trim, edge and blow-off.

What every visit includes

• Front and back yard mowing
• String trimming around beds, fences and trees
• Edging along sidewalks and driveway
• Blow-off of all hard surfaces
