Hard surface blow-off
The last step of every visit. Clippings from the mow, trim and edge get blown off the driveway, sidewalks, walkways and patio, so you come home to clean concrete.
What blow-off is
Mowing, trimming and edging all throw grass. Some lands on the lawn, where short clippings belong. Some lands on the concrete, where it does not. Blow-off is the final step that clears those clippings off the hard surfaces before the visit is done.
On every visit, that includes:
- The driveway
- Sidewalks
- Walkways
- The patio
Why it is worth doing every time
Fresh clippings on concrete are easy to track into the house and the car. Left in the sun they dry and stick, and on light concrete they can leave a green tint. Wet clippings on a walkway can also be slippery. Clearing them right after the cut is the simplest way to avoid all of that.
It is also the step you notice first when you pull into the driveway. A sharp lawn next to a messy driveway still looks half done. A clean driveway next to a fresh edge looks finished.
What about clippings on the lawn?
Clippings that fall on the grass are generally fine to leave there. Short clippings break down quickly and return nutrients to the soil, which is why many lawn guides suggest leaving them on the lawn. Blow-off is about the concrete. Many North Texas cities also ask residents to keep grass clippings out of the street and storm drains, which is one more reason to keep them off the hard surfaces.
Part of the full visit
Blow-off is step four of four, after mowing front and back, string trimming and edging. It comes with both weekly mowing and the every other week plan.
What blow-off is not
The word cleanup can sound bigger than it is, so here is the plain version. Blow-off clears the clippings from that visit off your hard surfaces. It is not leaf removal, a seasonal yard cleanup, or hauling anything away. Heavy fall leaf piles are best raked or bagged, and that is a separate job Coopers Mowing does not take on.
Mowing only. Blow-off clears clippings from the visit. Coopers Mowing does not do leaf removal, yard cleanups, pressure washing or hauling.
Does blow-off include leaves?
No. Blow-off is for the clippings from the visit. Leaf removal and yard cleanups are not something Coopers Mowing does.
Is the patio included?
Yes. The driveway, sidewalks, walkways and patio all get blown off on every visit. If the patio is behind a gate, make sure the gate is reachable on mowing day.
Is blow-off part of both plans?
Yes. Weekly and every other week visits both end with a blow-off of all hard surfaces.
