Mowing in The Trails
The Trails is one of the more established neighborhoods in Frisco, with mature trees and green space. Coopers Mowing offers weekly and every other week mowing, with careful trimming around every tree and bed.
About The Trails
The Trails is one of Frisco's more established neighborhoods, known for mature trees, green space and walking paths. Established neighborhoods tend to have bigger shade trees than newer parts of the city, and that changes how a lawn grows.
Shade changes the lawn
Under mature trees, grass gets less sun. St. Augustine handles shade better than Bermuda, which is one reason it is common in older North Texas yards. Shaded grass generally does better when it is not cut too short, because the taller blade gives it more leaf to make up for less light. Mowing at the higher end of the right range for your grass is a good habit in shady spots.
Trimming around trees and roots
More trees mean more trunks, roots and beds to work around. That is where string trimming earns its keep. Every visit includes trimming around beds, fences and trees, so the grass at the base of a trunk looks as neat as the open lawn.
Bark is worth protecting. Trimmer line can scrape it, and damage to the trunk can stress a tree. A small mulch ring around the base of a young tree keeps grass away from the trunk and makes the trim cleaner.
Established lawns, steady cuts
An older lawn can have thin spots, especially under trees. Regular mowing at a steady height, and not cutting off more than about a third of the blade at once, gives a thinning lawn its best chance to fill back in. In the growing season, weekly is the usual fit. Every other week can work in slower months.
What every visit includes

Choose weekly mowing or every other week. Pricing depends on yard size, so quotes are free. You do not need to be home as long as the yard is reachable and pets are inside. More on mowing in Frisco.
Mowing only. Coopers Mowing does not do landscaping, fertilizing, weed control, tree work, irrigation or yard cleanups.
Should a shady lawn be cut shorter or taller?
Generally taller. Shaded grass has less light to work with, so a taller blade helps it hold up.
Is trimming around trees included?
Yes. String trimming around beds, fences and trees is part of every visit.
Can you fix the thin spots under my trees?
No. Coopers Mowing is mowing only, with no seeding, sod or lawn treatment. Steady mowing at the right height does give thin grass its best chance.
